Mark Twain Elementary School is committed to engaging all scholars in meaningful learning experiences that meet the highest expectations in a caring and collaborative learning community supported through partnerships with parents and families, and the community. Our scholars will leave with a love for learning that will carry them through the rest of their educational career and life. The goal of Mark Twain Elementary School is to empower each scholar with the social, intellectual, and critical skills that will enable them to reach their potential as adults in our global society.
Families near Mark Twain have access to strong early childhood opportunities at our free HeadStart program. Designed for 3 year olds, this program is run by a partner organization and lasts the entire school day. Students in this program transition seamlessly into our pre-kindergarten program. In addition, we offer childcare until 5:30 to provide a full day of care for working families.
Mark Twain is an Oklahoma A+ School, meaning its curriculum integrates fine arts and is coupled with brain-friendly practices to support hands-on learning. We offer a strings program for fifth and sixth graders, which culminates in an end-of-year performance at Guthrie Green. These students are also invited to participate in Sistema Tulsa, an off-campus music program offered after school as a ministry of Boston Avenue United Methodist Church.
